Seal is generally suitable for synthetic carpets and rugs. Because of
variations in materials and production processes used by different
manufacturers, you should always spot test to insure compatibility with your
carpet. Wool fibers generally do not react well to water based products, so
SafeChoice Carpet Seal is not recommended for wool.
should be vacuumed and cleaned prior to application of Carpet Seal. Use
non-toxic, odorless SafeChoice Carpet Shampoo. Follow technical data sheet for
use. Immediately after shampooing apply SafeChoice Carpet Seal liberally bur
evenly (while carpet is still damp) using a hand-held pump sprayer (similar to
a garden-type sprayer) to mist the sealer over the surface of the carpet. Do
not over-saturate. SafeChoice Carpet Seal cannot be used on dry carpet.
Work SafeChoice Carpet Seal into the fibers with a rotary brush, polishing
machine or clean garage broom, just enough to assure complete and uniform
contact with the top of the carpet to the backing.
UPON COMPLETION, CLOTH DRY FIBER TOPS TO PREVENT FORMATION
OF WHITE FILM AS PRODUCT DRIES. Even coverage and wiping surface is essential. When
SafeChoice Carpet Seal is o be applied to a carpet not just immediately
cleaned, prior to application be sure to dampen carpet with clear water using a
hand-held pump prayer. The drying and curing process may be accelerated by
using conventional heating methods. Do not permit traffic on the carpet until
dry to touch. Periodic carpet shampooing may be performed as required. After four
or five cleaning or one a year, re-application of SafeChoice Carpet Seal may be
necessary to ensure outgassing containment. Before using SafeChoice Carpet Seal the first time, test in
small inconspicuous areas to confirm compatibility and color fastness. Coverage: One gallon of SafeChoice Carpet Seal Covers approximately
300 square feet for medium to tight weave carpet.
Rinse with clear water.Drying/Curing
Time: In moderate to
temperatures and humidity four to six hours to the touch – total cure time
twenty-four hours. Cool temperatures and/or high humidity may increase drying
time. Limitations: Not recommended for wool or velour carpet. It
is very important to cloth wipe the top of the carpet fiber after application
to prevent formation of white film upon drying. Do not permit traffic on
the carpet until dry to the touch. Always spot test carpet on inconspicuous
locations for color fastness and compatibility. When using carpet products it
is advisable to put small squares of aluminum foil under furniture legs until
carpet is dry. Health Precautions: As with all cleaning products, keep container tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not ingest, is swallowed, drink (2) glasses of water to dilute. In case of eye contact, flush eye immediately with plenty of water for 15 minutes. If you are chemically sensitive always test for personal tolerance.
